BHT-INHIBITED MONOMERS

A variety of product applications and foreign regulations have restricted the use of  Hydroquinone (HQ) and 4-Methoxyphenol (MeHQ) as polymerization inhibitors.  In response, Esstech can offer the following products with non-detectable or limited levels of HQ and MeHQ:

The following monomers can be supplied with “non-detectable” levels of HQ and MeHQ as determined by GPC Analysis

  • X-943-7466   Triethyleneglycol Dimethacrylate, 100 ppm BHT
  • X-945-7466   Tetraethyleneglycol Dimethacrylate, 100 ppm BHT
  • X-844-7469  2-Methoxyethoxyethyl methacrylate, 500 ppm BHT
  • X-887-7466  1, 6-Hexandiol Dimethacrylate, 100 ppm BHT
  • X-947-7466  Trimethylolpropane Trimethacrylate, 100 ppm BHT
  • X-850-1066  Urethane Dimethacrylate, 150 ppm BHT
  • X-851-1066   Urethane Dimethacrylate IPDI, 500 ppm BHT

The following monomers can be synthesized with low or non-detectable levels of HQ and MeHQ but, the BHT analog of each is currently not part of Esstech’s commercial product offering.

  • X-726-0000  Exothane 9
  • X-930-0000  Exothane 10
  • X-894-0000   Exothane 32
  • X-846-0000   HEMA Maleate
  • X-821-2000   Methacroyloxyethyl Phthalate (MEP, PAMM)
  • X-753-0000   HEMA Succinate
  • X-865-0000   Pyromellitic Dimethacrylate (PMDM)

  • Exothane 8, low color urethane, creates a “soft” yet tough polymer with high elongation
  • Exothane 26, high flexibility when cured, has the ability to re-adhere at lower tensile strength
  • Exothane 24, high crosslink capacity, low in color and viscosity and very high Shore D hardness
  • Exothane 32, very low in color and viscosity, provides improved flexibility
