4-META is an acidic monomer that can serve as a reactive primer in dental adhesive systems. 4-META is a high performance monomer that interacts with the tooth substrate, creating excellent adhesive bonds to dentin and enamel. Upon hydrolysis, the anhydride ring opens forming two carboxylic acid groups capable of demineralization as well as salt formation with calcium, strontium and other metals.
